I Remember You

Lucinda Jarrett, artistic director of Rosetta Life, ran a one-day workshop at the WAY AGM in Birmingham on March 8th, 2008.
We asked people to bring in a photograph or memento and with Lucinda they wrote something particular about their experience of grief. The aim was to create a website page for WAY with a wall of distinct and individual messages, so people visiting our site would find a way to understand the complex nature of grief through the stories, poems and fragments of experiences that people contributed.
Lucinda anticipated working with ten or twenty people but over forty people got involved in scanning in photos, writing text and drawing or painting images for the site.
The poetry and stories give an extraordinary insight into peoples’experience of coping, and surviving the loss of the most important person in their lives.
Rosetta Life mainly works with terminally ill people. This special project offered a unique insight into what life is like for those who are left behind when someone dies _ from terminal illness or any other cause.
